There’s a Coral Behind You.

Yesterday I was talking to a friend. A friend who is leaving at the end of this year. And yes. There was a coral behind him.

The end of the school year is coming up in… four days. YAY. Not so much.

This week serves as a fun week. No work. Except today. And all fun. We get a party in the morning tomorrow, and on Wednesday, we get to go to the water park. Personally, I’m not a fan of water parks, so I”m not completely excited. Anyways, we have an assembly on Friday, and school ends at 12:00 that day. I’m not sure what’s happening Thursday.

There is a girl sitting in front of me. Her name is Priyanka. WELLL that was random. Yea.

Just two sentences about my thoughts. So now you know partly what goes on in my mind.

Mr. Cook’s about to continue reading Les Petit Prince. It just sounds so awesome in French. MWAHAHA.

So when we’re done with this… OH… Nevermind. I was going to say it would be the last ‘work’ or reading activity of the year. I was wrong. We do indeed have a science test. I’m actually kind of excited for science tests. People hate them, but I actually like science them. I guess it’s because science is always my last class before lunch, so it’s like the closing to my morning. Just getting it over with makes my afternoon seem more exciting. Does that even make sense? If it does, then good. We think alike.

I feel like writing a song. But I can’t. Daaang. If you have a guitar, and a musically inspired mind, you could probably write a song.

Now I must go. This will probably be my last blog of the year. Exciting? Not as much as science tests. WOW. That just made me sound like a nerd. OH YAY!!! Yeaaaaaaa.

Seriously, I’m gonna go.

GOODBYE!!!

Connor Shanamar

Connor Shanamar grew up in the capital city of Achyut Island, Masigla City. He was born on December 17, 1956 and raised by a wealthy family, but was forced into taking music lessons he never really enjoyed. Through his teenage years, he began to rebel against school, and his responsibilities as a middle child in a family of five children. But growing up on a large estate, he managed to find many places to take photographs. Being in his time period, his photos turned to black and white.

Connor Shanamar’s inspirations were Louise Nevelson, and how she used unwanted objects to create her artwork. He also took pictures that would confuse people. He would make it seem as if it was only their imagination-when really, it was just a filled up cabinet with the camera turned sideways. These photos became part of his imagination, too. Shanamar then decided to leave his comforts and step out into the ports, bays, mountains of Achyut.

He started to imagine his photographs coming to life, and so his work began. Using found and unwanted items, Shanamar began to make his photos really come to life. He would make them pop out in a room. Different materials would help the material stay on the photograph. Different objects would be put together to resemble one certain object on the photograph. They would be placed gently over areas in the photograph.

Recently in art, we’ve been putting together random pieces of things we’ve found at home, and gluing them to our boxes, which we then painted black.
Our inspiration was Louise Nevelson, who was one of the only female artists of her time. The name of her projects were called Assemblage. She used different materials and placed them in different boxes. Each box had it’s own story, and ours do to.                                                                                                                                           After the painting.

Finally.

Last week we had our CTP4 Test Week. Not something an average Middle Schooler would be excited for. Might be excited to get it over with, but not actually TAKING the tests.

Well… thankfully, now that week is over, and another day has come. Finally.

There’s not much to say about the test… You’d get my point, being that we’re all in Middle School right? Hope so. If there’s ever something to be excited about right now, it’d be SWITCH DAY!!!

Every year, 5th grade and 6th grade take each others’ places. 5th grade gets a tour of being in Middle School, 6th grade goes ‘back in time’ to 5th grade. We get recess, we see our old teacher, we write letters to the current 5th graders about Middle School. I’m telling you, that during recess, the four square lines will be PACKED. But I’ll be sitting around talking with Hellen, Erica, Anjoli… Kinda like we used to, last year. I honestly miss those times…

Well there’s not much to say anymore, so I’ll probably just say bye for now.

BYE FOR NOW!!

And remember- eat cold pizza once in a while. It helps.

Perfect.

We won Spirit Week, now Spring Break is over.

My friend, Kiana came back to visit from Japan… It was great seeing her again… We went to Safron’s with a few more friends, and the girls came over to my home for a sleepover. We went swimming… and were caught knee-deep in technology. Great, isn’t?

The next day, she had to meet up with her Mom so I went to watch ‘Did You Hear About the Morgans?’ with Jene, Johann, Vanessa, Serena, and Anjoli. It’s a comedy about a seperated couple who are sent of somewhere because they’re ‘star witnesses’ to a murder. Go watch it!!!

Then… I met Kiana back at home, where another day went by, and nothing more interesting happened. Her family came over for dinner, and after the meal, her brother, sister, my sister, and her and I played Hide and Go-Seek all over the house, and then a short game of Sardines on the 2nd floor. The whole evening was AWESOMEEE.

On Friday, the day Kiana left, I went to watch another movie with friends… Anjoli, Erica, Johann, Jason and Jene. After the movie, we passed by Chili’s which was where I went into with Kate and Katie who were there before. Erica and Anjoli left for home. Then the three guys left for Mos Burger… While waiting for our cake to come, I called Jason out of boredness, and also to tell him that he might get his blue friend back.. from the claw machines. I hung up a few minutes later, and apparently, he thought I’d wanted to eat with them at Mos Burger… So he took Jene and Johann back to Chili’s to get me, only to find that I had no need to go back with them.

The next day, I went over to Anjoli’s house. We played piano, she played guitar, and we both sang… That took up a lot of our two days. Going home, I walked up to my piano and started playing a song “White Horse” by Taylor Swift. It’s one of the only songs I can play on the piano. Genius? No.

Well that pretty much sums up my break. Not that interesting, it flew by. Fast.

School’s started again, and.. I’m obsessed with ‘Message From Your Heart‘ by Kina Grannis.

HAVE AN AWESOME QUARTER FOUR, TAS.

Oh… and don’t eat chocolate in the morning,

Not good for ya.

@)!^… That Means 2016 with “Shift”.

It’s Day THREE of Spirit Week ’10, and..

it.

is.

CLASH DAY!!!!!

I’m wearing skinny jeans with my PJ shorts on top, and a pink RAWR shirt with a navy and gray tank-top. I ALSO have a ‘gangsta’ glove.. ZEBRA! With a pair of different earrings… Jimmy is wearing my shutter shades right now, though…

I AM SO EXCITED FOR SOME REASON.

I guess maybe because it’s almost Friday???

Our assembly is at 10:15 today, which means it ends at 11:00.. that’s when we get to go to MTV practice, and REHEARSE AGAIN!! :O

Call me crazy and obsessive, but I can’t help it if I L-O-V-E dancing. Too bad for.. YOU.

Today is the third day of Spirit Week ’10… it’s PAJAMA DAY!!

All we had to do was get out of bed….

and walk.

But the sucky part is that I think I’m catching a cold.. I’ve got a cough and a sneeze with runny nose and mucus. Not exactly making my day here.

This is our Spirit Week Schedule:

Monday-Grade Color and Crazy Hair

Tuesday- EXTREME Weather DAy

Wednesday- PAJAMA DAYY

Thursday- CLASH DAY

Friday- TWIN/CLONE DAY

I’m most excited about Friday, though cause that’s when Anjoli and I get to dress up with the same clothes, shoes, and accessories!! But it’s also MTV DANCE DAY.

Our group has:

Serena, Julian, Steven, Luke, Anjoli, Moksha, Kate, Yilin, Dalton, Jene, Quinn, Shizuka, Jules, Davis, Sebby, Nicky, Paul, Johann,  and me. You probably have no idea who they are, but that doesn’t really matter here does it?

SO… that’s all I should write for now…

IMG_2186
IMG_2150I’m writing this post from my humanities classroom during SPIRIT WEEK!!!!!!!!

My friends in HK and Korea have moved away from Taipei, so they can’t go through Spirit Week ’10 with us. GRRRR.

Each day is a different dress up day. Yesterday, we had Grade Colors(6th-black, 7th-red, 8th-white) with CRAZY hair. Katie had forks in her hair, so we put two spoons in mine. Other people had pens, hair spray, mo-hawks, even!! Then came the assembly…

6TH GRADE WON THE CHEER!!!

Then 7th grade, then 8th… To be honest, when we heard the 8th Grades’ cheer, we thought we were coming in last. But 6th Grade also won the Locker-Room Challenge. It’s the game where each person has to put on 7 PE shorts, or 7 PE shirts. Jene and Anjoli went on stage to play that game.

THEN there was the Extreme Dance-A-Thon… a teacher, 5 girls and 5 boys from each grade and all of them dance with each other for 30 seconds, then they let the next pair have a chance. Carl and I video taped the whole thing… pretty awesome..

So… that concludes everything or anything interesting that happened on Day One of Spirit Week ’10!!

I shall post everyday about what happens, and I’ll include some pictures as well…

SPIRIT WEEK

HELLO, DEAR FELLOW BLOGGERS!!! Here at TAS, there is one week EVERY MARCH where us Middle Schoolers get to be a little bit more crazy than usual. SPIRIT WEEK!

But the part of Spirit Week I’m the most excited about, is the MTV Dance!!!

Dance.

I.

Love.

There are two groups of dancers for each grade, and we get to choose the music, and choreograph our own dances. Sounds reallyy awesomeee…

Through out the week, we get to dress up for each day. One day may be clash day, pajama day, crazy hair day, or color day. I think they change every year, so I can’t be sooo sure..

SO! Just a few days left until it comes!

Hope it’s just as great as I hoped.

Black and White Dance

Every few months, us Middle Schoolers get to have a dance, held in the cafeteria after school. There’s always a new theme added to it, which is always fun. First, the was ‘Make a Splash’, then for the Halloween dance, we had ‘A Thriller Dance’. The last dance we had was the Candlelight. The most formal dance of the year. The transformation of the cafeteria to the Candlelight was … amazing. It’s the hardest thing trying to picture the Candlelight as the cafeteria again. So here and now, we have the fourth dance of the year. Our Spring ‘Black and White Dance’. Some people are wearing black and white for it, while a few others are just wearing their normal clothes. The dance starts at 5:30, with 50NT admission. Once we get in, it usually takes a while for everyone to warm up the feeling, and get onto the dance floor. But when everyone’s in, it gets crazy. Some people have dance offs, and some just dance around with their friends. When the slow songs come on, my friends and I will be silly and dance with each other! just like last time, at the Candlelight I danced with Steph and Vanessa. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!! But there are some people who just run off the dance floor! It’s always a good time.

Me, I’m always on the dance floor. I usually never leave to get a drink, or eat some pizza. It’s only when the slow songs come on that I’ll take a rest.

There are also those times where a certain song like Pump It- BEP isn’t good, or fun anymore without a certain person *ehem* like.. Katie! Or Right Round- Flo Rida isn’t enjoyable without Anjoli!

So it’s another dance. No big deal right? Thing is, it’s our second to last dance, so some people actually DO make a huge deal out of it. Me? I’m not gonna worry until.. wait. I already am.
