Black and White Dance

Every few months, us Middle Schoolers get to have a dance, held in the cafeteria after school. There’s always a new theme added to it, which is always fun. First, the was ‘Make a Splash’, then for the Halloween dance, we had ‘A Thriller Dance’. The last dance we had was the Candlelight. The most formal dance of the year. The transformation of the cafeteria to the Candlelight was … amazing. It’s the hardest thing trying to picture the Candlelight as the cafeteria again. So here and now, we have the fourth dance of the year. Our Spring ‘Black and White Dance’. Some people are wearing black and white for it, while a few others are just wearing their normal clothes. The dance starts at 5:30, with 50NT admission. Once we get in, it usually takes a while for everyone to warm up the feeling, and get onto the dance floor. But when everyone’s in, it gets crazy. Some people have dance offs, and some just dance around with their friends. When the slow songs come on, my friends and I will be silly and dance with each other! just like last time, at the Candlelight I danced with Steph and Vanessa. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!! But there are some people who just run off the dance floor! It’s always a good time.

Me, I’m always on the dance floor. I usually never leave to get a drink, or eat some pizza. It’s only when the slow songs come on that I’ll take a rest.

There are also those times where a certain song like Pump It- BEP isn’t good, or fun anymore without a certain person *ehem* like.. Katie! Or Right Round- Flo Rida isn’t enjoyable without Anjoli!

So it’s another dance. No big deal right? Thing is, it’s our second to last dance, so some people actually DO make a huge deal out of it. Me? I’m not gonna worry until.. wait. I already am.

Chinese New Year Break

Was there anything I did this break…. Yes, there was. But there were only four days where I actually had fun. Amazing right? Not exactly. This break was just like my typical weekend.

The first two days of break were when my Mum started giving my older sister and I our hong bao from our elders. I never actually looked inside them though. I never do. Not sure why, though. I live like this. But just before the break ends, we’ll go over our year’s savings and count up all our money. Same with my sister. Mum handles all the counting, so my sister and I just sit there, waiting for ten minutes at least.

But with those first two days were when I went out with friends. Thursday, I went to Hellen’s home with Caroline to watch “My Sister’s Keeper.” I’ve watched it once before on a plane ride back to Taipei, but I was glad to watch it again… This time, in way better quality. It’s a pretty sad movie, I must say, but even then no once ended up crying!! Then come Friday, another movie day. Five of us went out to Miramar Cinemas, Tien Mu, to watch “Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief.” Darren hated it, but I thought it was… interesting? Anyways, I’d probably say that because nearly the whole time I was talking to Anjoli.. When the movie ended, we headed down two floors to Chili’s, for lunch. We all shared our food, took pictures, and kept talking.

The rest of the break until Tuesday was the exact. Same. Thing. Wake up, stare at the ceiling, brush teeth, change, breakfast, log onto Gmail, chat, lunch, chat, log off, log on, chat, dinner, chat, shower, chat, sleep.

See? Same thing over and over again! Pretty awesome.

No, not really.

But that’s not the point.. Not even sure if I have a point. So continuing on about my MIRACULOUS, OUTRAGEOUS, INCREDIBLY boring break. Tuesday was pretty good, because Katie and I went out to watch “Valentine’s Day.” It was okay, I guess. Little bit wired at some points. I wanted to watch it, because I love to watch movies that are ‘stars studed’. As in the whole cast is lined with A-list actresses and actors.

After Tuesday, there was one more day of “wake up, stare at the ceiling, brush teeth, change, breakfast, log onto Gmail, chat, lunch, chat, log off, log on, chat, dinner, chat, shower, chat, sleep.” Then on Thursday, I headed down to school to pick up a few friends to come over the my house for the day. Just to burn the bored-ness. We went swimming, had lunch. But the main thing we did was hang out in my room, listening to music. Doesn’t sound that fun, I know, but it was the least we could do.

So… that was my break!

I seriously hope the next one WILL be completely different!!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

Down the Street..

Yesterday, we left school at 9:00AM for Di Hua Jie. The whole 6th grade went down there to buy Chinese New Year’s decorations for our lockers, as well as our found poems. On our way there, the bus trip was pretty fun-as always. We had some crazy-fun people on our bus which was extremely awesome.. we’d sing songs from ‘High School Musical’ just for the fun of it. We also had this one thing, where Quinn would yell “EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS!” Then the whole back of the bus would start clapping. It was hilarious!!!

Then when in Di Hua Jie, almost everyone bought loads and loads of candy.. One of my friends got way too hyper, and started creeping Anjoli and me out a little bit. Although, it was really amusing at how he tried to freak Jack out with his hyper-ness. While walking through the crowded streets, you would be able to hear people talking, and men and women from the stores trying to get people to come in and buy their items. The smells were mixed up- motorbike exhaust, as they came through the streets, dried nuts, and different foods, candy, and smoke from the temples.

Soon we realized we were having too much fun, so three of us went around to a small cramped store filled with decorations for New Years. There was red everywhere you turned. Red papers, envelopes, strings, lanterns! The three of us bought our decorations, and continued on enjoying the trip. But soon enough, the buses came by to pick us up.

On our way back to school, we stuffed ourselves with more and more candy!!! Soon enough, we started to get tired of it, so when we got off the bus, Katie and I felt like puking, almost! It’s not a good feeling. Trust me. The buses got us back to school in time for our encore classes, after lunch. Honestly, I was pretty glad we were there at that time, because I wouldn’t have been able to stand being in that street with all the candy for any longer..
